AIORI Project Office, STPI Kolkata 24th March 2025
Samiran Gupta, a prominent figure in the Internet Governance ecosystem, visited the India Internet Foundation (IIFON) office, where he engaged in detailed discussions around the Advanced Internet Operations Research in India (AIORI) project.
During his visit, Mr. Gupta was introduced to the goals, architecture, and growing impact of AIORI—an open-source, distributed Internet measurement initiative designed to enhance network visibility, diagnostics, and operational insights, particularly for developing countries.
The conversation emphasized the importance of AIORI’s deployment across the Global South, where reliable and transparent Internet measurement infrastructure remains limited. Mr. Gupta expressed keen interest in the platform’s potential to strengthen local Internet infrastructure through data-driven insights and collaborative research.
He also met with the core team behind AIORI, including project leaders Anupam Agrawal and Anand Raje, to understand the broader mission and collaborative efforts driving the project forward.
