Deploying AIORI Anycast at IIT Guwahati: Boosting Regional Internet Observability

Guwahati, 28th March

We’re excited to announce the deployment of an AIORI Anycast instance at IIT Guwahati, expanding our distributed Internet measurement network into North-East India.

This node enhances regional latency monitoring, DNS behavior analysis, and routing detour detection using AIORI’s modular platform. Strategically located, the IITG instance helps capture unique routing patterns in the region, while supporting research, student engagement, and real-time observability via tools like IPv6 PDM probes and latency APIs. This milestone strengthens our mission to build a resilient, research-driven infrastructure for Internet transparency across diverse geographies.

This deployment would not have been possible without the generous support of IIT Guwahati, the broader AIORI contributor community, and who assisted with setup, validation, and real-time testing. With this deployment, AIORI moves one step closer to its goal of building a transparent, research-friendly, and resilient Internet observability layer — one node at a time.
