IEEE Quarter Tech Talk Table 16.0 (QT3 16.0) was held on March 29, 2025, at IIT Guwahati, Assam, India. The event brought together students, young professionals, industry leaders, and IEEE volunteers to explore the theme: “Empowering Careers Through IEEE: Opportunities, Resources, and Global Networking.”

Inauguration & Opening Remarks
The event commenced with insights from distinguished speakers:
- Dr. Bozenna Pasik-Duncan, IEEE QT3 Advisor, emphasized IEEE’s role in lifelong learning and professional development.
- Dr. Sreenath J G, Treasurer, IEEE Guwahati Subsection, highlighted the importance of regional engagement.
- Prof. T. Venkatesh, Head of CSE, IIT Guwahati, discussed the significance of IEEE partnerships for students and faculty.
- Ramneek Kalra, IEEE Impact Creator & Founding Chair of IEEE QT3, outlined the vision behind the QT3 series.
Panel Discussion: Empowering Careers Through IEEE
Moderated by Nidhi Shingade and Ramneek Kalra, the panel featured
- Dr. John Jose, IIT Guwahati, who shared his experiences with IEEE leadership roles and the benefits of extracurricular activities.
- Anand Raje, Co-founder & CTO of India Internet Foundation, emphasized the value of technical and policy-oriented volunteering. He highlighted the importance of standards development and shared personal stories on how students can leverage IEEE to enhance their entrepreneurial skills.
- Sumedha Walia, TCS, provided an industry perspective on how IEEE contributes to professional evolution and tech leadership. She also discussed the critical role of communication and public speaking in technical careers.
Speed Mentoring & Networking – Participants engaged in a dynamic 1-hour speed mentoring session, allowing for personalized guidance and exploration of career pathways aligned with IEEE’s global offerings.
IEEE: Beyond Membership – A Strategic Guide to Global Resources – Presented by Ramneek Kalra, this session offered a deep dive into IEEE’s tools and platforms, including technical societies, standards development, scholarships, internships, and leadership roles.
Live-Hiring & Resume Review Round – A new segment in IEEE QT3 featured resume reviews and live hiring from partners like Labdox Pvt. Ltd and India Internet Foundation. Out of approximately 20 candidates, over 10 were directly recruited for internships.
Anand Raje: Bridging Technology and Policy
Anand Raje, Co-founder & CTO of India Internet Foundation, brought a unique perspective to the panel. He discussed the significance of technical and policy-oriented volunteering, the importance of standards development, and how students can enhance their entrepreneurial skills through IEEE. His insights provided valuable guidance for attendees looking to navigate the intersection of technology and policy.
