St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, organized a two-day workshop titled “Revolutionising Cyber Security”, aimed at equipping students and faculty with critical skills and awareness in the realm of digital safety. The event brought together law enforcement professionals, cybersecurity experts, and academic leaders for an immersive learning experience on pressing cyber threats and defense strategies.

Expert-Led Sessions
Renowned professionals from law enforcement, government, and industry shared their expertise:
- Sambiti Chakraborty, ACP, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, explained common cybercrime patterns such as SMS/call bombing and online frauds.
- Monotosh Raj and Sk Tajuddin, Sub-Inspectors from CID West Bengal, conducted live demonstrations on cybercrime detection and incident reporting.
- Ajoy Ganguly, Cyber Security Expert, delivered a session on digital hygiene and secure internet practices.
- Anand Raje, Co-founder & CTO, India Internet Foundation, offered insights into the intersection of cybersecurity and internet policy, highlighting the relevance of DNS, digital identity, and open standards in today’s threat landscape.
- Avishek Raychoudhury, Scientific Officer, STQC, MeitY, Govt. of India, discussed data protection protocols and recent cyber-attacks and the CIA Triad.

- Dr. Mrinmoyee Bhattacharya (Assistant Professor, Computer Science) underscored the urgency of cybersecurity education in academia.

Mr. Anand Raje, CTO, India Internet Foundation, connected cybersecurity with internet governance, stressing DNS security and digital identity frameworks. His session stood out by urging students to consider policy roles in building a safer internet, bridging technical skills with public-interest solutions.
