IIFON Signs MoU with IEM Kolkata for setting up Internet Research Lab on the campus and AIORI Anycast Testbed instance in IEM Kolkata
The India Internet Foundation (IIFON) is thrilled to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM), Kolkata on 8th May 2024. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing Internet research and development in India.
Under this MoU, IIFON and IEM will establish a state-of-the-art Internet Research Lab on the IEM campus. This lab will serve as a hub for innovative research, fostering collaboration among students, faculty, and industry experts. The lab will focus on key areas such as Internet standards, cybersecurity, and next-generation Internet technologies.
In addition, an AIORI Anycast Testbed instance will be set up at IEM, making it one of the few academic institutions in India to host such advanced infrastructure. The Anycast Testbed will enable researchers to conduct real-time experiments and develop solutions for enhancing the resilience and efficiency of Internet services.
