IAYPC- 2025 IEEE India Council and IIFON (India Internet Foundation) Launches Nationwide Hackathon on Internet Standards and Engineering

The India Internet Foundation (IIFON), in collaboration with the IEEE India Council – IAYPC 2025, is organizing a two-month-long National Hackathon, set to commence with a pan-India National Workshop in the second week of August 2025. This flagship initiative aims to build awareness and technical capacity among students in the areas of Internet engineering, standards development, and network measurement. The National Workshop is expected to witness participation from over 150 colleges and more than 4,500 students across the country. To ensure students are well-prepared and institutions are actively engaged, a series of one-day faculty workshops will be conducted in 11 selected cities across five geographic zones of India. These faculty workshops are designed to equip educators with the technical knowledge and tools needed to guide their students through the hackathon journey. The workshops are being jointly conducted by IEEE India Council and IIFON as part of the Advanced Internet Operations Research in India (AIORI) project—a national community development initiative supported by NIXI and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

As a participant, you will be inducted into the AIORI Ambassadors Program, and upon completing the AIORI-2 edition, you will earn the title of AIORI Ambassador. In this prestigious role, you will:

Host an AIORI Internet Measurement Node on your campus
Lead a one-day National Internet Standards Workshop for students
Optionally publish your research in a peer-reviewed conference
Participate in the exciting Standards Hackathon
