Sponsorship Opportunities in AIORI-2
Empowering India’s Next Generation of Internet Engineers & Standards Contributors
AIORI-2 (2nd Edition, 2025) is a national initiative to accelerate Internet standards education, measurement, and research across India. Led by IIFON, the AIORI Project, and NIXI, in collaboration with IEEE India Council – IAYPC, it leverages the AIORI Internet Measurement Network to build a cascading knowledge ecosystem that bridges academia, industry, and global Internet standard bodies. By training 300+ faculty and engaging 4,500+ students across 150+ institutions, AIORI-2 will empower a future-ready talent pool equipped to contribute to Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs), including IETF and beyond. Participating faculty become part of the AIORI Ambassadors Program, championing standards-based education in their regions and hosting AIORI Measurement Anchors to generate real-time insights into Internet performance and resilience. The initiative culminates in the ORBIT Conference and Pulse Internet Measurement Forum, fostering impactful research and multi-stakeholder dialogue. To support continued growth, thehndb.com serves as a community platform for showcasing talent and enabling collaboration in standards, innovation, and recruitment.
Key Components
Train-the-Trainer Faculty Development
- 10+ zonal programs to train over 300 faculty members in Internet standards, DNS,BGP, next gen Internet network operations, and measurements.
- Faculty will lead localized student workshops at 150+ campuses, multiplying reach and sustainability.
- Faculties become AIORI Ambassadors, hosting AIORI Measurement Anchors.
Student Workshops Across India
- 4500+ students will be trained on practical DNS tools, IETF workflows, network protocols, and measurements using the AIORI Internet Measurement Platform.
- Direct exposure to IETF-style engineering and open standard participation.
Remote Standards Hackathon
- 60 student teams selected from workshops to compete in a national remote hackathon.
- 20 Teams will make it to the Grand Finale in Chandigarh University
Grand Finale at Chandigarh University
A high-impact gathering with:- Finals of the National Hackathon. Winning 3 teams will be mentored for participation in IETF 125 Hackathon
- ORBIT Conference (https://orbitcon.net)
- Pulse Internet Measurement Forum hosted by the Internet Society
Talent & Collaboration Portal: https://thehndb.com
- Tracks trained students and faculty
- A searchable platform for research collaboration, internships, and recruitment by ISPs, companies, and public stakeholders.
Differentiator: Why AIORI-2 Is Unique
| Aspect | AIORI-2 Program | Traditional Outreach and Capacity Building Programs |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery Model | Cascading “Train-the-Trainer” model empowering 300+ faculty to reach 4500+ students across 150+ colleges | Single-event or regionally isolated outreach; impact limited to attendees |
| Standards Integration | Direct alignment with IETF, DNS, RPKI, BGP, IPv6, and measurement standards; ITU and W3C standards. includes hackathons and draft mentorship | Usually operational discussions with limited standards engagement |
| Talent Pipeline | National talent platform thehndb.com for recruitment and research partnerships | No formal system to track or support talent after event |
| Hackathon Linkage | Remote hackathon → national finale → participation in IETF 125 Hackathon | Rare linkage to global forums like IETF |
| Research + Operations Bridge | ORBIT conference promotes standards-aligned research; ISOC Pulse Forum adds real-world insights | Research typically disconnected or absent |
| Scalability & Sustainability | Replicable in future phases; built-in academic ownership ensures ongoing activity | One-off, non-repeating format with unclear continuity |
Why Should You Partner with AIORI-2?
