Sri Sri University, Cuttack 07th March 2025

India Internet Foundation (IIFON) is pleased to announce the successful deployment of an AIORI (Advanced Internet Operations Research in India) server node at Sri Sri University, Cuttack. This milestone marks a significant step in expanding India’s distributed Internet measurement and research infrastructure.

The AIORI node at Sri Sri University represents the university’s active collaboration with IIFON in contributing to a decentralized observability network. This node will facilitate in-depth research and data collection in key areas such as latency, routing, DNS, IPv6, and Internet resilience. It also provides faculty and students with the opportunity to participate in real-time Internet operations research and measurement activities.

This deployment is part of a broader initiative to establish the Center for Internet Engineering at Sri Sri University. The Center will act as a multidisciplinary hub for Internet technology research and capacity building, with goals that include:

  • Advancing Internet protocol research
  • Promoting cybersecurity awareness and practices
  • Supporting measurements for Internet reliability and performance
  • Enabling hands-on education in Internet infrastructure and policy
  • Facilitating workshops, hackathons, and seminars for the academic and technical community

Through this collaboration, IIFON and Sri Sri University aim to nurture technical leadership and innovation in Internet operations. The AIORI node is one of many that together form a robust infrastructure for monitoring and understanding the Indian Internet ecosystem.

India Internet Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to the leadership and technical teams at Sri Sri University for their proactive engagement and support in launching this vital initiative.
